Sumo Logic Alternatives: Five Options Compared by Price and Scope
Prices and facts checked on vendor pages on Nov 8, 2026.
Sumo Logic is a cloud log analytics and SIEM platform sold on credits. Teams look elsewhere when they want to see prices before talking to sales, when they only need log search and not a SIEM, or when they want a simpler way to find problems. This page compares five alternatives by price and scope. Sazabi is one of the five and wrote this page, so read that section with that in mind. Where Sumo Logic is the better fit, we say so.
What Sumo Logic Charges, For Reference
Sumo Logic lists two plans, Essentials and Enterprise Suite, and both show "contact sales" for price. Both list unlimited users. Essentials has a free trial. Usage is paid in credits, a pooled unit that applies across products. Data is licensed in tiers (Continuous, Frequent, and Infrequent) or through Flex. Flex lists $0 for ingest and unlimited users, with search billed by data scanned. The estimator on the page showed $3.14 per TB scanned, assuming an annual Enterprise Flex commitment, a new-customer promotion, and the US region, and it says prices vary by region. You can buy credits by card up to $25,000.
Limits differ by plan. Essentials lists metrics up to 50,000 per day, tracing up to 5 GB per day, log retention up to 365 days, and 300 log monitors with 500 metrics monitors. Enterprise Suite lists unlimited metrics and tracing, customer-defined retention, and 1,000 log monitors with 500 metrics monitors. The page also lists an AI assistant, DojoAI, with 10 included prompts per user per day. For detail, see Sazabi vs Sumo Logic.
Five Sumo Logic Alternatives At A Glance
How To Choose
- Do you need a SIEM? If so, start with Datadog Cloud SIEM or keep Sumo Logic.
- How long do you need to keep logs? Sumo Logic lists up to 365 days on Essentials, Sazabi tops out at 90 days on standard plans, and Coralogix points to your own bucket.
- Do you want to think in credits, units, or gigabytes? Credits and units are flexible. Per-GB pricing is easier to model.
- How much are you willing to configure? Monitors and dashboards take upkeep.
Datadog
Datadog splits logs into ingest, indexing, and storage. On its list price page (US sites, annual billing), ingest is $0.10 per GB, and indexing is priced per million events by retention: $1.06 for 3 days, $1.27 for 7 days, $1.70 for 15 days, and $2.50 for 30 days. Flex Logs Storage is $0.05 per million events stored per month, and Flex Logs Starter is $0.60 per million events stored for 6, 12, or 15 months. Cloud SIEM is $5 per million analyzed events.
As a worked example, assume 100 GB per month at an average of 500 bytes per event (about 200 million events) indexed with 7-day retention. That is $10 for ingest plus $254 for indexing, or $264 per month at annual list prices, before hosts or other products. See Datadog Alternatives and Sazabi vs Datadog.
Pick it when you want logs and a SIEM from a vendor you already use. Skip it when you want one price per GB, since indexing changes the total.
Coralogix
Coralogix lists logs at $0.42 per GB, traces at $0.16, and metrics at $0.06 per GB, with one gigabyte of metrics equal to 750 active time series. A unit is $1.50 of data, and the cost per GB changes by pipeline: the page gives $1.15 per GB for frequent search and $0.50 per GB for monitoring as examples. Every account includes 24/7 support, unlimited users and hosts, and enterprise features such as SAML SSO and audit trail. The free trial lasts 14 days with a quota of 8 units. See Sazabi vs Coralogix.
Pick it when you want to route data by value and store the rest in your own S3 bucket. Skip it when you want the simplest possible bill, since pipelines add a choice.
Better Stack
Better Stack's log pricing for the Europe region is $0.10 per GB ingested and $0.05 per GB per month retained. Standard querying is included, and Query boost is $0.001 per GB scanned. The free tier includes 3 GB of logs retained for 3 days. Hosting data in your own bucket is a paid add-on at $250 per month or $208 per month depending on billing. The page lists SQL queries and VRL transforms for logs, plus built-in on-call and incident management. Prices differ by region. See the Better Stack integration and Sazabi vs Better Stack.
Pick it when you want transparent per-GB prices, with on-call and status pages in one product. Skip it when you need a full SIEM.
SigNoz
SigNoz's Teams plan starts at $49 per month and includes $49 of usage, which the page equates to 163 GB of logs or traces. After that, logs and traces are $0.30 per GB and metrics are $0.10 per million samples. Teams includes unlimited teammates, access to all features, an MCP server, and support in chat, email, and Slack. Data centers are in the US, EU, and India. Enterprise starts at $4,000 per month with dedicated cloud, bring-your-own-cloud, or self-hosted options. See the SigNoz integration and Sazabi vs SigNoz.
Pick it when you want an open source stack with a managed cloud option. Skip it when you need a SIEM.
Sazabi
Sumo Logic gives you monitors to configure, with caps by plan. Sazabi works the other way. It watches your logs, investigates, and opens an issue with the cause and evidence, so there are no monitors to maintain first. Issues route to Slack and other channels by severity. You can ask questions in plain language, and Sazabi hands root cause to your coding agent through MCP, CLI, or API. Sazabi is AI-native observability and security, and it scans connected repositories for vulnerabilities.
Plans are $50, $200, and $1,000 per 30-day cycle. Each includes 200 GB ingested, 50 GB scanned, and 20 issues, then $0.10 per GB for ingest and scans and $4 per extra issue. Retention is 7, 30, or 90 days. Members are capped at 2, 15, or 45 by plan.
Pick it when you want log search plus issue detection with no credit model. Skip it when you need a SIEM, retention beyond 90 days on a standard plan, or a very large team on one plan. See Sazabi pricing.
Try An Alternative Without Dropping Sumo Logic
Sumo Logic describes its collector as built on OpenTelemetry. If your logs pass through a standard OpenTelemetry Collector, Sazabi documents adding an otlphttp/sazabi exporter to the pipeline alongside your existing exporters, so the Collector sends to every destination. Confirm that your Sumo Logic collector setup allows a second exporter before you rely on this. The OpenTelemetry integration page covers log setup in detail. Start with a single service and keep both tools on for a few weeks.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does Sumo Logic cost?
Sumo Logic does not list plan prices. Essentials and Enterprise Suite both say to contact sales. Its Flex model lists $0 for ingest and bills for data scanned, and the pricing page estimator showed $3.14 per TB scanned under stated assumptions.
What is a good alternative to Sumo Logic for small teams?
Small teams often compare listed prices. Better Stack lists per-GB ingestion and retention rates, SigNoz starts at $49 per month, and Sazabi starts at $50 per 30 days. Compare on your own volume and retention needs.
Can Sazabi replace the SIEM in Sumo Logic?
No. Sumo Logic lists a cloud-native SIEM in its Enterprise Suite. Sazabi detects issues in logs and scans connected repositories for vulnerabilities, but it does not describe SIEM features.
Can I send logs to Sazabi and Sumo Logic at the same time?
If your logs pass through an OpenTelemetry Collector, you can add Sazabi as another exporter and the Collector sends to every configured destination. Check whether your Sumo Logic collector setup allows a second exporter before you start.
