Sazabi vs SigNoz: Open Source APM Against Log-Based Issue Detection
Prices and facts checked on vendor pages on Nov 8, 2026.
SigNoz is an open-source, OpenTelemetry-native platform for traces, metrics, and logs that you can run yourself or buy as SigNoz Cloud. Sazabi is AI-native observability and security that starts from logs and opens issues when it detects a problem. Sazabi wrote this page, so check every SigNoz detail against the sources listed below.

How SigNoz Works and Charges
SigNoz's pricing page, checked November 8, 2026, says there is no user-based pricing, no host-based pricing, and no special pricing for custom metrics. Teams starts at $49 per month and includes $49 of usage, which the page equates to about 163 GB of logs or traces. Beyond that, logs and traces cost $0.30 per GB and metrics cost $0.10 per million samples. Unlimited teammates are included. Eligible startups can get Teams for $19 per month for the first 12 months.
Logs are listed with 15 days of retention and traces with 15 days. The retention selector on the page offers 30 days, 90 days, 180 days, and 1 year for logs. The page does not show a separate per-GB rate for longer retention. Metrics are listed with one month of retention, up to 13 months.
Enterprise is custom and starts at $4,000 per month. It covers SigNoz Cloud Dedicated, BYOC managed by SigNoz in your cloud account, or self-hosted SigNoz with enterprise support. For self-hosting, SigNoz lists a Community option that you install and manage yourself. Its docs show Docker, Swarm, Linux, and Kubernetes installs.
SigNoz Cloud lists SOC2 Type II and HIPAA compliance, a BAA as an add-on, and data centers in the US, EU, and India. The logs feature list includes parsing via pipelines, saved views, live tail, and JSON log filters.
How Sazabi Works and Charges
Where SigNoz gives you a place to look, Sazabi is built to look for you. It reads incoming logs, opens an issue when it detects a problem, and attaches what it found. Repeats of one problem are grouped into one issue. There is no alert rule behind an issue. You can still ask questions in plain language, search logs, and build dashboards, with notifications in Slack, Linear, Microsoft Teams, or email.
Sazabi connects to your repositories to link failures to code and scans them for vulnerabilities. It does not write fixes. It hands root cause to Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or another coding agent through MCP, CLI, or API. Plans are $50, $200, and $1,000 per 30-day cycle, as listed on Sazabi's pricing page. Each includes 200 GB ingested, 50 GB scanned, 20 issues, and 500 AI credits, then $0.10 per GB ingested, $0.10 per GB scanned, $4 per issue, and $0.01 per credit. See Sazabi pricing.
Sazabi holds SOC 2 Type II, SOC 1, ISO 27001 and ISO 27017 certifications. Anyone who signs an NDA, customer or not, can request the SOC 2 Type II report and ISO 27001 audit reports from the Sazabi Trust Center. HIPAA safeguards are available on select plans.
Key Differences for a Log-Centered Team
Who writes the rules. In SigNoz, alerts are things you create, from dashboards or with help from Noz. Sazabi opens issues from what it observes in live logs, so a failure you never anticipated can still surface.
Noz and Sazabi's agent. Noz is an AI teammate in the SigNoz interface. It investigates across traces, logs, and metrics and can create dashboards, alerts, and views for you. Sazabi's agent investigates when you ask or when an automation runs, opens an issue with what it found, and can hand the result to your coding agent.
Per-GB economics. SigNoz charges $0.30 per GB for logs and traces. Sazabi charges $0.10 per GB beyond 200 GB included, plus a scan meter and an issue meter. For a log-heavy, query-light team, per-GB ingest is the main line to compare.
Operations. If you self-host SigNoz, your team operates storage, scaling, upgrades, and backups, which its Enterprise listing says directly. Sazabi is a managed service, with BYOC for teams that must keep logs in their own AWS account.
Worked Example
Assumptions: 300 GB of logs in one month, nothing else counted. SigNoz Teams at its listed rate with the default 15-day retention. Sazabi under 50 GB scanned, 20 issues, and 500 AI credits.
Retention differs in each row, so match it to your needs before comparing. SigNoz's price also covers traces and metrics usage up to the same dollar amount, which Sazabi meters differently.
When to Pick SigNoz
Pick SigNoz when you want an open-source stack you can run yourself, or one vendor that covers APM, traces, metrics, and logs in a single interface. It fits teams with DevOps capacity who want full control. Choose it if you need logs retained for 180 days or a year on a listed option, or its listed compliance statements and BAA add-on. Its pricing is simple, with unlimited teammates and no host fees, which suits larger teams.
When to Pick Sazabi
Pick Sazabi when you want detected issues with evidence delivered to your coding agent instead of dashboards you must watch, and you want to avoid operating your own backend. It fits teams whose main signal is logs and whose engineers already work in Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor. If you are weighing another stack that has an open source core, see Sazabi and Grafana Cloud.
Trying Sazabi Alongside SigNoz
Because SigNoz collects with an OpenTelemetry Collector, you can add a second exporter. Sazabi's SigNoz source has you add otlphttp/sazabi to the logs and traces pipelines next to the SigNoz exporters. SigNoz keeps receiving everything, and no application changes are needed. The fan-out happens in a collector you run, so on SigNoz Cloud use your own collector or the k8s-infra agent. See the SigNoz integration page and Sazabi and OpenTelemetry.
In the other direction, the Sazabi agent can query SigNoz through the SigNoz MCP connector, authenticated with a SigNoz API key.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I send logs to SigNoz and Sazabi at the same time?
Yes, if you run a collector. Sazabi documents adding a second otlphttp exporter to the OpenTelemetry Collector that feeds SigNoz, for logs and traces. On SigNoz Cloud, add it to the collector or k8s-infra agent that sends to SigNoz, because Sazabi describes the fan-out as happening in a collector you run.
How does SigNoz Cloud charge for logs?
SigNoz lists $0.30 per GB ingested for logs and traces, and $0.10 per million samples for metrics. The Teams plan is listed at $49 per month and includes $49 of usage, with no user-based or host-based pricing.
Can I run SigNoz myself?
Yes. SigNoz describes itself as open source and lists a self-hosted Community option you install and manage yourself. Its Enterprise tier also lists SigNoz Cloud Dedicated, BYOC managed by SigNoz in your cloud account, and self-hosted with enterprise support.
Can the Sazabi agent query SigNoz?
Yes. A SigNoz MCP connector gives the agent tools to query metrics and traces and to inspect alerts. Creating alerts, notification channels, and dashboards is controlled by a read-only toggle on the connection.
