Sazabi vs Sumo Logic: How They Compare for Log-Centered Teams
Prices and facts checked on vendor pages on Nov 8, 2026.
Sumo Logic is a long-running log analytics platform with a SIEM, pipelines and an AI layer for security and operations teams. Sazabi is AI-native observability and security for engineering teams that want production issues found and explained without building monitors first. Sazabi wrote this page, so weigh our framing accordingly. Every Sumo Logic fact below comes from its own site and is dated November 8, 2026.

How Sumo Logic Works and Charges
Sumo Logic's pricing page sells two packages. Essentials targets small and medium DevOps and SecOps teams and offers a free trial. Enterprise Suite adds cloud SIEM and is "Contact sales." Both list unlimited users.
The Flex model is the part most log buyers ask about. Sumo Logic's docs describe it as the default plan for new customers, where you pay for analytics and search rather than data ingestion. The pricing page shows "$0 ingest" and an estimator that returns a price per TB scanned. On November 8, 2026, the default selection (North America: US, 500-750 scans per GB ingested) showed $3.14 per TB scanned. Two heavier profiles, 750-1500 and 1500-2000 scans per GB ingested, are also on the estimator.
Two cautions. The figure is an estimate, not a quote, and the page notes that pricing varies by deployment region. Storage is separate: Sumo Logic's FAQ says there is a "nominal charge" for retention, configured per data source. The Flex FAQ also says the Account Overview page shows credits consumed by Flex searches, and suggests splitting data into several partitions so queries touch less of it.
On the AI side, Sumo Logic's docs describe DojoAI as a multi-agent platform. Mobot is the conversational interface, with a Log Analysis Agent that can also create dashboards and monitors. The pricing page lists 10 prompts per user per day on Mobot, with DojoAI Credits adding pooled monthly capacity. It lists the Root Cause Agent as "In development," and a press release dated October 13, 2026 announced a preview.
Sumo Logic also sells Data Pipelines to filter and route telemetry before storage. Its page says that, at present, data routes into Sumo Logic and AWS.
How Sazabi Works and Charges
Sazabi connects to your logs and code, detects issues without hand-built monitors, investigates root cause, and posts the result to Slack, Linear or another tool. You can ask questions in plain language, search logs, and build dashboards. When a fix is needed, Sazabi hands the root cause to your coding agent, such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor, through MCP, CLI or API. It also scans connected repositories for vulnerabilities and files confirmed findings as issues.
Pricing is per 30-day cycle: Hobby $50, Startup $200, Growth $1,000. Each includes 200 GB of logs ingested, 50 GB scanned, 20 issues and 500 AI credits. After that it is $0.10 per GB ingested, $0.10 per GB scanned, $4 per issue and $0.01 per AI credit. Retention is 7, 30 or 90 days. There is no yearly billing. See Sazabi pricing for current numbers.
Key Differences for a Log-Centered Team
The unit you are billed on. Sumo Logic's Flex bills on scans, so cost follows how much you query. Sazabi meters scans too, but also bills per issue surfaced, so cost follows how many problems it finds. On paper, $3.14 per TB scanned is lower than $0.10 per GB scanned ($100 per TB). Do not stop there. The two vendors define scan volume differently, and Sumo Logic's figure depends on a scans-per-GB profile. Replay a real week of queries in both trials.
Who does the setup. Sumo Logic gives you a query language, dashboards, monitors and a SIEM, and then layers agents on top as a paid add-on. Sazabi starts from the agent: detection and investigation are the product, and dashboards are generated by asking.
Breadth. Sumo Logic covers SIEM, metrics, traces and compliance reporting in one contract. Sazabi covers logs, with metrics and traces stored as searchable records, and does not replace a SIEM.
Compliance. Sumo Logic's pricing page lists PCI, SOC 2 Type 2, CSA, ISO and HIPAA certifications. Sazabi holds SOC 2 Type II, SOC 1, ISO 27001 and ISO 27017 certifications. Anyone who signs an NDA, customer or not, can request the SOC 2 Type II report and ISO 27001 audit reports from the Sazabi Trust Center. HIPAA safeguards are available on select plans.
When to Pick Sumo Logic
- You need a cloud SIEM and log analytics under one vendor and one contract.
- Your security team runs threat detection and wants entity-centric detections and audit trails.
- You want data kept for up to 365 days or a customer-defined period, with retention set per source.
- You are comfortable negotiating credits, and want unlimited users.
- You already have Sumo Logic queries, dashboards and monitors that your team relies on.
When to Pick Sazabi
- Your team is small, ships quickly, and has no time to maintain monitors and dashboards.
- You want a coding agent to receive root cause context directly, through MCP or the CLI.
- You prefer a fixed monthly plan you can read on one page over a credit model.
- Your retention need is 7 to 90 days, and you do not need a SIEM.
Trying Sazabi Alongside Sumo Logic
You do not need to move anything to test. If your logs pass through an OpenTelemetry Collector, add an otlphttp/sazabi exporter next to your existing exporter, and the Collector fans the same stream out to both. Sazabi's OpenTelemetry Collector guide has the config, and the OpenTelemetry integration page covers SDK-level setups.
Run both for two weeks. Count how many real incidents each one surfaced without a prewritten monitor, and compare the first-week bills. If you are still weighing options, read the Sumo Logic pricing guide and the Sumo Logic alternatives page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Sumo Logic charge to ingest logs?
On its Flex model, no. Sumo Logic lists $0 ingest and bills for the analytics you run against the data, as a price per TB scanned. Other licensing tiers exist, so check your order form.
How does Sazabi charge compared with Sumo Logic?
Sazabi charges a fixed price per 30-day cycle ($50, $200 or $1,000) with included logs, scans and issues, then $0.10 per GB ingested, $0.10 per GB scanned and $4 per issue. Sumo Logic uses credits and a scan-based estimate.
Can I run Sazabi next to Sumo Logic?
Yes, if your logs pass through an OpenTelemetry Collector. Add an otlphttp exporter pointed at your Sazabi intake URL next to the one you already have, and both products receive the same stream.
Does Sazabi replace Sumo Logic SIEM?
No. Sumo Logic sells a cloud SIEM on its Enterprise Suite. Sazabi scans connected repositories for vulnerabilities and flags suspicious activity in logs, but it is not a SIEM replacement.
