Sazabi vs HyperDX: Now Part of ClickHouse, Compared with Sazabi
Prices and facts checked on vendor pages on Nov 8, 2026.
HyperDX is an OpenTelemetry-native observability tool for logs, traces, metrics and session replays. ClickHouse acquired it, and its interface is now the ClickStack UI. Sazabi is AI-native observability and security that detects issues in logs and investigates them. We wrote this page, so read our framing with that in mind. If you want to run and query your own ClickHouse, HyperDX may suit you better.
What Changed: HyperDX and ClickStack
HyperDX's co-founder announced on March 6, 2025 that it was joining ClickHouse. The post says HyperDX Cloud would continue serving and onboarding customers and that the open-source project would stay maintained. As of our check, hyperdx.io still sells HyperDX Cloud plans.
ClickHouse now packages the same interface as ClickStack. Its page lists three parts: ClickHouse as the database, the ClickStack UI (HyperDX) for search, dashboards, alerts and session replays, and OpenTelemetry for collection. You can run it yourself as open source, or use Managed ClickStack on ClickHouse Cloud, which ClickHouse announced as a beta. So there are three ways to buy or run it. This page covers all three.

How HyperDX Cloud Charges
The HyperDX pricing page shows three plans and says billing is based on data usage, with no per-seat or per-host billing.
Beyond the included amount, the page lists $0.40 per additional GB and $0.40 per 100 metrics (1 DPM). It defines a GB as the size of all events sent that month, including logs and traces.
Managed ClickStack is different. ClickHouse says it is priced on infrastructure, not events, and states that data can be stored for less than three cents per GB per month, with no per-user, per-host or other extraneous fees. New users get a 30-day trial with $300 of credits. The ClickHouse Cloud page states SOC 2 Type II compliance for ClickHouse Cloud.
Alerts are created in the HyperDX interface and can notify through webhooks, with Slack and PagerDuty documented. ClickStack also includes a built-in MCP server for AI assistants.
How Sazabi Works and Charges
Sazabi's plans cost $50, $200 and $1,000 per 30-day cycle, each with 200 GB of logs ingested, 50 GB scanned, 20 issues and 500 AI credits. Overage is $0.10 per GB ingested, $0.10 per GB scanned, $4 per issue and $0.01 per credit. Retention is 7, 30 or 90 days. See Sazabi pricing for the full table.
The difference is who does the first pass. With ClickStack you search, build dashboards and write alert rules, with Lucene-style search or SQL when you need it. Sazabi's agent reads incoming logs, opens issues without hand-built monitors, attaches the evidence and routes them to Slack or PagerDuty and can file them in Linear. It does not write code. It investigates root cause and hands that to your coding agent through the CLI or MCP server.
Worked Example at List Prices
Assume only logs and traces, no metrics, and that on Sazabi you stay within the included scanned GB, issues and AI credits. HyperDX Cloud Starter retains 30 days, so compare with Sazabi Startup, which also retains 30 days.
At low volume HyperDX Cloud is cheaper. Above 600 GB per month, under these assumptions, Sazabi's per-GB rate is lower. Retention differs on other plans, and Managed ClickStack cannot be priced from list rates alone, so it is not in the table.
When to Pick HyperDX
- You want an open-source stack you can run on your own ClickHouse.
- You want SQL access to your telemetry and are happy to build searches and dashboards.
- You need session replays in the same UI as logs and traces.
- Your volume is small. At list prices, 50 to 200 GB a month on Starter costs $20 to $80.
- You already run ClickHouse and want one database for observability and analytics.
When to Pick Sazabi
- You want problems found for you, not only a place to search.
- You do not want to operate a database, or choose schemas, or tune it.
- You want findings handed to Claude Code, Codex or OpenCode.
- You want repository security findings filed as issues alongside runtime ones.
Sazabi holds SOC 2 Type II, SOC 1, ISO 27001 and ISO 27017 certifications. Anyone who signs an NDA, customer or not, can request the SOC 2 Type II report and ISO 27001 audit reports from the Sazabi Trust Center. HIPAA safeguards are available on select plans. For other open-source stacks, see Sazabi and SigNoz and Sazabi and Grafana.
Trying Sazabi Alongside HyperDX
Keep HyperDX or ClickStack as your search and dashboard layer. Add a second exporter to your OpenTelemetry collector that sends logs and traces to a Sazabi project through the OpenTelemetry integration. If you also use ClickHouse, Sazabi documents a ClickHouse sandbox CLI so its agent can run ClickHouse workflows during an investigation. That is a separate setup from log ingestion. Browse the full list on the integrations page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is HyperDX still a separate product?
HyperDX joined ClickHouse in March 2025. HyperDX Cloud still has its own pricing page, and ClickHouse now ships the HyperDX interface as the ClickStack UI in its open-source and managed ClickStack offerings.
What does HyperDX Cloud cost per month?
The pricing page lists Free at $0 per month for 3 GB with 3-day retention and one user. Starter is $20 per month for 50 GB with 30-day retention and unlimited users, then $0.40 per additional GB.
Can I keep HyperDX and add Sazabi?
Yes. Both accept OpenTelemetry data, so an OpenTelemetry collector can send the same logs to each. Sazabi reads logs through its OTLP intake while HyperDX or ClickStack keeps its own storage.
Does Sazabi query ClickHouse?
Sazabi documents a ClickHouse sandbox CLI that lets its agent run ClickHouse workflows during an investigation. It is a separate connection from sending logs to Sazabi.
