Sentry Pricing Explained: What You Pay for Errors, Logs and More
Prices checked on vendor pages on Nov 8, 2026.
Prices below come from Sentry's pricing page and billing docs, read on November 8, 2026. Sentry's docs say per-category prices are rounded and that older plans may differ, so check your own Subscription page before you budget.
Sentry started as error tracking and now sells several products on one subscription: errors, tracing, replays, logs, application metrics, monitors and profiling. Each has its own meter. The plan fee is small, and what you pay depends on which meters you turn on and how much volume each one carries.
The Short Version
- Developer is free for one user. Team lists at $26 a month and Business at $80 a month, both with unlimited users on paid plans.
- Every paid plan includes 50k errors, 5 GB of logs, 5 GB of application metrics, 5M spans and 50 replays a month.
- Past the included amount you pay pay-as-you-go (PAYG) rates or prepay "reserved" volume at a discount.
- Logs and application metrics cost $0.50 per GB beyond the 5 GB, and only through PAYG.
- When your reserved volume and PAYG budget run out, Sentry drops new data instead of billing you.
Plans
Team and Business prices are listed for annual billing with default prepaid data. Business adds advanced quota management, SAML and SCIM (priced separately), and 1,000 metric monitors, against 20 on Team.
How the Meters Work
Sentry bills by the amount of data processed. Its docs define three terms:
- Volume is the number of events and attachments, or the amount of data, you send.
- Reserved volume is data you pay for in advance at a discount. Unused reserved volume expires at the end of each billing month.
- PAYG budget is a cap you set. It is shared across categories, first come first served, and covers anything above reserved volume.
Reserved volume and PAYG are priced differently. Business per-unit rates are also higher than Team's for errors and spans, while replays cost the same on both.
Errors
Errors are tiered by volume. These are Team rates per error, as listed:
Business errors start higher, at $0.00089 reserved and $0.0011125 PAYG for the 50k to 100k tier.
Spans, Replays and the Rest
Spans (tracing) list at $0.0000016 reserved and $0.000002 PAYG per span for Team between 5M and 100M. Replays on Team and Business are $0.003 reserved and $0.00375 PAYG each in the 50 to 5,000 tier. Other listed rates include:
- Attachments: $0.25 per GB reserved and $0.3125 per GB PAYG, beyond 1 GB.
- Cron monitors: $0.78 each beyond the first. Uptime monitors: $1.00 each beyond the first.
- Continuous profiling: $0.0315 per hour. UI profiling: $0.25 per hour. Both require PAYG.
- Seer, Sentry's AI debugging agent: $40 per active contributor per month, billed separately from your PAYG budget. An active contributor is a user who makes 2 or more PRs to a Seer-enabled repository.
A Worked Monthly Example
Assume a Team plan with 500k errors, 20M spans, 50 GB of logs and 5,000 replays a month. Included volume is subtracted first, and tier rates are as listed. Sentry rounds its published prices, so treat these as close estimates.
Logs are PAYG in both columns, because Sentry sells extra log volume only through PAYG. Reserved rates also assume your usage matches what you prepaid. Add Seer for six active contributors and the bill rises by $240.
Controlling the Bill
Sentry's quota docs list the levers in order of effort. The first ones are set in the web app and the rest live in your SDK:
- Spike Protection drops events when a project's volume crosses a dynamic threshold. It applies to errors, spans and attachments, but not logs or metrics.
- Quota and PAYG adjustments change what each category may consume.
- Rate limits and inbound filters discard data before it counts. Inbound filters cover errors, spans, attachments, logs and application metrics when your subscription allows.
- SDK sampling and filtering such as
beforeSendandbeforeSendLogstop data at the source. The logs docs call SDK filtering the most effective way to reduce log usage.
The Stats page shows accepted, dropped and filtered counts, and only accepted logs affect your quota.
Where Sazabi Compares
Sazabi is AI-native observability and security. Sentry is built around application errors and tracing, and Sazabi is built around logs, so a full comparison depends on which one you need. Here is the logs line only, and we wrote this page, so we are a party to it.
Sazabi charges $0.10 per GB ingested and $0.10 per GB scanned by searches, after 200 GB and 50 GB included per 30-day cycle. Startup is $200 per 30 days with 30-day retention. Issues are $4 each after 20 included. See our pricing page.
Assumptions: Sentry figures are the $26 plan fee plus $0.50 per GB beyond 5 GB, and the plan fee also covers your other included volume. Sazabi assumes searches scan 40% of ingested volume, which is our own assumption, and no extra issues. Sentry is cheaper than Startup at 100 GB, though Sazabi's Hobby plan ($50 per 30 days, 2 members, 7-day retention) covers that volume for less. Its log price per GB stays flat as you grow, so the gap opens at higher volumes. Retention is not compared here.
You do not have to pick one. Sazabi's Sentry integration streams issue, comment and alert events, and its SDK setup lets you keep sending to Sentry at the same time. See the Sentry integration page on this site for the overview.
When Sentry Is Worth the Price
If your main need is catching and fixing application errors, Sentry's Team plan is inexpensive for what it includes, and the drop-instead-of-bill behavior keeps surprises small. Unlimited users on paid plans also helps larger teams.
The cost shifts when you send high log volume through it, since $0.50 per GB through PAYG adds up. For the broader field, see the Sazabi and Sentry comparison and the Sentry alternatives page. For a platform with many more meters, our Datadog pricing guide covers that model.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does Sentry cost per month?
Sentry lists Developer at $0 for one user, Team at $26 per month and Business at $80 per month when billed annually with default prepaid data. Volume above the included amounts is extra.
How much does Sentry charge for logs?
Every plan includes 5 GB of logs a month. Beyond that, Sentry lists $0.50 per GB, available only through your pay-as-you-go budget.
What happens when I hit my Sentry quota?
According to Sentry docs, data sent after you use up your reserved volume and pay-as-you-go budget is dropped and not charged. You lose monitoring for the rest of the billing cycle.
Does Sentry spike protection cover logs?
No. Sentry docs say Spike Protection applies to errors, transactions or spans, and attachments. For logs, use SDK filtering, inbound filters and your pay-as-you-go budget.
Can I use Sentry and Sazabi together?
Yes. Sazabi docs describe a Sentry integration for issue, comment and alert events, and an SDK setup that sends events to both products, so you can keep sending to Sentry.
