Ask DeepWiki about a dependency's internals from a Sazabi thread
Last verified on Nov 8, 2026.
A production error often ends in code you did not write. A queue client retries in a way you did not expect, an ORM emits a query you did not ask for, an HTTP library swallows a header. To understand it you need to know what the library does, and reading its repository from scratch in the middle of an incident is slow.
DeepWiki generates documentation for public GitHub repositories and answers questions about them. With its MCP server connected, the Sazabi agent, part of Sazabi's AI-native observability and security platform, can look up how a dependency works while it is reading your logs, and keep both in one thread.
What the Sazabi agent can do with DeepWiki
Sazabi connects to DeepWiki's official hosted server at https://mcp.deepwiki.com/mcp. There is nothing to authorize. DeepWiki describes the server as free, remote and open without authentication, and Sazabi's docs list three read-only tools:
read_wiki_structurelists the documentation topics for a repository. It is the table of contents, useful for finding out whether a project documents its retry or timeout behavior at all.read_wiki_contentsfetches the generated documentation for a repository.ask_questiontakes a natural-language question about a repository and returns a context-grounded answer.
The scope is public repositories only. None of the tools writes anything.
Questions it answers
- What does this library do when a connection times out: retry, fail, or queue?
- Which configuration option controls the behavior I see in this log line?
- Where in the project is this error message raised?
- How is this open-source service meant to be run, and which components does it start?
- Did the behavior I rely on change between the versions we deployed?
A worked example: unexpected duplicate jobs from a queue client
Your worker logs show the same job ID processed twice, a few seconds apart, only after a network blip. The service uses an open-source client library, example-org/queue-client. In a thread you ask:
orders-worker processed job ord_7f3a twice, 4 seconds apart, right after a
connection reset at 02:41 UTC. Use DeepWiki on example-org/queue-client:
what happens to an in-flight job when the connection drops, and is there a
setting that controls redelivery? The agent reads your logs to confirm the timeline: the reset, the first and second delivery. It then calls read_wiki_structure on example-org/queue-client to see whether there is a section on delivery semantics or reconnection. If there is, read_wiki_contents pulls it; otherwise ask_question takes your question directly. A useful reply names the redelivery behavior and the option that governs it, which is the thing to check in your own configuration.
The answer is generated, so ask the agent to point at the file or section it relied on and read that part yourself. If the library behavior is as described and your config leaves the default, the fix is in the worker: make the handler idempotent. The agent can then search your logs for other job IDs that were delivered more than once, to size the problem.
How it fits with other integrations
DeepWiki explains other people's code; your own code lives in GitHub, and a coding agent such as Claude Code can act on what you learn. For web pages that are not repositories, such as vendor changelogs, use Exa. The integrations index lists every method, and pricing covers Sazabi plans.
Ways to connect
- DeepWiki (MCP connector): Give the Sazabi agent tools to search public GitHub repository documentation and ask natural-language questions about open-source code.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the DeepWiki connector need an API key?
No. DeepWiki documents its MCP server as free and requiring no authentication, because it serves documentation for public repositories only. Sazabi connects it with one click or with the CLI command sazabi mcp-connectors connect deepwiki.
Can it read our private repositories?
No. DeepWiki covers public GitHub repositories. For your own code, connect the GitHub integration so the agent can read it directly.
Are the answers authoritative?
No. ask_question returns a generated, context-grounded answer about a repository. Use it to find the right file or concept fast, then confirm against the source code or release notes before you act on it.
Which transport does Sazabi use?
Sazabi connects to https://mcp.deepwiki.com/mcp, the Streamable HTTP endpoint DeepWiki recommends. DeepWiki lists its SSE endpoint as legacy and being deprecated.
