Sazabi vs New Relic: Seat Pricing, Log Costs and Issue Detection
Prices and facts checked on vendor pages on Nov 8, 2026.
New Relic is a full-stack observability platform that prices by data ingested and by user. Sazabi is AI-native observability and security that prices by plan and usage, and it centers on logs and the issues found in them. Sazabi wrote this page. The New Relic facts come from New Relic's own pages, checked on 2026-11-08.

How New Relic Works and Charges
New Relic's pricing page describes two meters, data and users, with compute as a third option. As of 2026-11-08 it shows:
- Data. 100 GB free per month. Beyond that, $0.40 per GB on the original data option, or $0.60 per GB with Data Plus. Storing data in the EU data center adds $0.05 per GB per month.
- Basic users. $0 on every edition.
- Core users. $49 per user per month on Standard, Pro and Enterprise.
- Full platform users. On Standard, $10 for the first user and $99 for each additional one, with a maximum of five. On Pro, $349 per user on annual commitment or $418.80 per user pay as you go. Enterprise is contact sales.
The page says New Relic does not charge per host. It also says the free tier stops ingesting once you pass 100 GB in a month, until you upgrade or the month rolls over.
For logs, New Relic's log management page lists ingestion through its forwarder, Fluentd, Fluent Bit, Logstash and a syslog TCP endpoint. Federated Logs lets you query logs in place in S3 buckets. The documentation states a default log retention of 30 days. Live archives stretch that to seven years, with storage and queries billed separately.
For AI, New Relic's Autopilot overview says Autopilot, formerly known as SRE Agent, helps investigate incidents, identify likely root causes, and suggest next actions, and that you can use it from Slack.
How Sazabi Works and Charges
Sazabi has no per-user meter. Hobby, Startup and Growth cost $50, $200 and $1,000 per 30 days, and they cap members at 2, 15 and 45. Enterprise limits are custom. Each plan carries 200 GB ingested, 50 GB scanned, 20 issues and 500 AI credits before overage rates apply: $0.10 per GB ingested, $0.10 per GB scanned, $4 per issue and $0.01 per credit. Details are on the Sazabi pricing page.
The practical effect is that adding a teammate does not add a licence fee until you hit a plan's member cap. Usage is what moves the bill. A busy week of queries raises scanned GB. A noisy week raises the issue count.
Seats Change the Math
The same 500 GB month shows how New Relic's user mix moves the total. Assumptions: original data option, no compute charges, other add-ons ignored, and Sazabi's scans and issues inside the included allowance.
For one engineer, New Relic Standard lists lower than Sazabi Startup at this volume. Once five or more people need full platform access on Pro, per-user fees dominate. If most of your team can work as basic users, New Relic's seat cost falls again. Count your real full-platform users before comparing.
Key Differences for a Log-Centered Team
- Who pays per seat. New Relic prices by user type. Sazabi prices by plan and usage, with member limits.
- Retention. New Relic's default is 30 days with a documented path to seven years. Sazabi tops out at 90 days on Growth unless you negotiate Enterprise terms.
- Free tier. New Relic has a permanent free tier. Sazabi starts at $50.
- Detection. Sazabi opens issues from live logs with no monitor behind them. See how it does this in Sazabi vs Datadog, where the same model is compared with monitor-based alerting.
- Compliance. Sazabi holds SOC 2 Type II, SOC 1, ISO 27001 and ISO 27017 certifications. Anyone who signs an NDA, customer or not, can request the SOC 2 Type II report and ISO 27001 audit reports from the Sazabi Trust Center. HIPAA safeguards are available on select plans.

When to Pick New Relic
Pick New Relic when you need APM, browser and mobile monitoring and synthetics in one place, not just logs. Pick it when you want a free tier to start, retention beyond 90 days through live archives, or logs queried in your own S3 bucket. Pick it when only a few people need full access and the rest can use basic seats.
When to Pick Sazabi
Pick Sazabi when many engineers should see production without a seat decision, or when you want issues that arrive with root cause and evidence. Pick it when a coding agent should receive that context through MCP, CLI or API. Sazabi also scans connected repositories for vulnerabilities and files confirmed findings as issues.
Trying Sazabi Alongside New Relic
Check how your logs leave your hosts first. If they flow through an OpenTelemetry Collector, Sazabi can act as an additional OTLP/HTTP exporter next to your existing ones. See the OpenTelemetry integration and Fluent Bit integration for other routes.
Two shortcuts replace rather than add. Changing the New Relic infrastructure agent's logging endpoint sends those logs to Sazabi instead of New Relic. The browser agent's proxy beacon setting works the same way. Use them on a test environment, not on the system you still rely on New Relic for. If Splunk is also in your stack, see Sazabi vs Splunk.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does New Relic charge compared with Sazabi?
New Relic lists data ingest per GB beyond a free 100 GB each month, plus per-user prices for core and full platform users. Sazabi charges a flat plan per 30 days with included usage, then per GB ingested, per GB scanned, per issue and per AI credit.
Can I keep New Relic and add Sazabi?
Yes, if your logs pass through an OpenTelemetry Collector, which can send to both. Pointing the New Relic infrastructure agent or browser agent at Sazabi sends data to Sazabi instead of New Relic, not in addition.
What log retention does each product include?
New Relic documents a default of 30 days for logs, with live archives available up to seven years at separate storage and query prices. Sazabi retains logs for 7, 30 or 90 days on Hobby, Startup and Growth, with custom retention on Enterprise.
Does New Relic have an AI agent for incidents?
Yes. New Relic Autopilot, formerly called SRE Agent, helps investigate incidents and works from Slack. Sazabi opens investigated issues from logs and hands the root cause to your coding agent.
