Sazabi vs Dynatrace: Rate-Card Observability Against Log-Centered Issue Detection
Prices and facts checked on vendor pages on Nov 8, 2026.
Dynatrace is a full-stack observability platform sold through one annual commitment, with a published rate card. Sazabi is AI-native observability and security that stores your logs and opens issues from them. Sazabi wrote this page. The Dynatrace numbers come from Dynatrace's own pricing page, checked on 2026-11-08, and its Pay-per-Query log rates list lower than Sazabi's.

How Dynatrace Works and Charges
Dynatrace's pricing page describes a single platform-level annual commitment. Everything you use draws down from it at rate-card prices, and the page says there are no overage premiums. The more you commit, the more you save.
Host-based observability is priced first. Foundation & Discovery is $7 per host per month. Infrastructure Monitoring is $29 per host. Full-Stack Monitoring is $58 per 8 GiB host and adds APM, automated root cause analysis for end-to-end transactions, code-level profiling and Kubernetes Platform Monitoring.
Logs are priced separately, with two models you can mix across your environment:
Pay-per-Query retention is adjustable from 1 day to 10 years. Bundled Queries has a minimum of 10 and up to 35 days with queries included.
On AI, the same page lists AI Exploration as included, covering telemetry exploration, anomaly detection in time series and log analysis. Agentic Operations, which covers autonomous investigations and custom agents, is $0.10 per AI unit. Dynatrace lists an autonomous multi-step investigation at an average of 30 AI units, or about $3. Those tasks are not billed when run inside Dynatrace Assist for a limited time, but they are billed through workflows, MCP, API or custom apps.
How Sazabi Works and Charges
Sazabi starts from a plan, not a commitment. Hobby, Startup and Growth are $50, $200 and $1,000 per 30 days, each with 200 GB ingested, 50 GB scanned, 20 issues and 500 AI credits. Beyond that you pay $0.10 per GB ingested, $0.10 per GB scanned, $4 per issue and $0.01 per AI credit. Billing is monthly only, and the pricing page has the full table.
Retention is part of the plan, not a separate meter. Storage is Sazabi-managed, so there is no storage tier to size or tune. Sazabi investigates live logs, opens an issue with the evidence, and lets your coding agent take over from there through MCP, CLI or API.
A Worked Log Example
Assume 500 GB of logs a month, 30-day retention, and 100 GB scanned, and treat a GiB and a GB as equal. Exclude hosts, traces and seats.
Dynatrace Pay-per-Query is lower than Sazabi here, and Bundled Queries is higher. That is the honest shape of the comparison: if you only need cheap storage and ad hoc queries at volume, Dynatrace's rates are hard to beat. Sazabi's fee also pays for issue detection, investigation and agent access, and Dynatrace's commitment sits on top of the figures above.
Key Differences for a Log-Centered Team
- Pricing structure. Dynatrace uses a commitment with metered rates. Sazabi uses a monthly plan with included usage.
- Depth of monitoring. Dynatrace Full-Stack adds APM, profiling and Kubernetes views. Sazabi does not.
- Retention range. Dynatrace goes to 10 years. Sazabi's published plans go to 90 days.
- Detection. Sazabi opens issues from logs without a monitor you wrote. Dynatrace lists anomaly detection in time series and logs under AI Exploration.
- Compliance. Sazabi holds SOC 2 Type II, SOC 1, ISO 27001 and ISO 27017 certifications. Anyone who signs an NDA, customer or not, can request the SOC 2 Type II report and ISO 27001 audit reports from the Sazabi Trust Center. HIPAA safeguards are available on select plans.

When to Pick Dynatrace
Pick Dynatrace when you want one platform for hosts, applications, Kubernetes and logs under a single commitment. Pick it when logs must be retained for years, when you want a self-managed cluster through Dynatrace Managed, or when low per-GiB rates for high-volume logs matter most.
When to Pick Sazabi
Pick Sazabi when your team debugs mostly from logs and wants issues opened with root cause attached, without building monitors first. Pick it when a plan with included usage is easier to approve than a platform commitment, or when your coding agents should read production logs directly.
Trying Sazabi Alongside Dynatrace
Start with how your logs reach Dynatrace. Its log ingestion API documentation names the OpenTelemetry Collector, Fluent Bit, Fluentd and Logstash as shippers when you cannot install OneAgent. If you use the Collector, add Sazabi as an additional OTLP/HTTP exporter and leave the Dynatrace exporter in place. For Fluent Bit or Vector, see the Fluent Bit integration and the Vector integration.
If OneAgent collects your logs today, it sends them to Dynatrace, so add a shipper on those hosts for the trial. Send one service first, ask the same questions in both tools, and compare what each returns.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Dynatrace cheaper than Sazabi for logs?
On list rates, often yes for raw log volume. Dynatrace Pay-per-Query lists $0.20 per GiB to ingest, $0.0007 per GiB-day to retain and $0.0035 per GiB scanned. Sazabi charges a plan fee, then $0.10 per GB ingested and $0.10 per GB scanned beyond the allowances. Dynatrace host fees and commitments are separate.
Does Dynatrace charge for its AI features?
AI Exploration is listed as included at no additional charge. Agentic Operations is listed at $0.10 per AI unit, and Dynatrace lists an autonomous multi-step investigation at an average of 30 AI units. Some tasks inside Dynatrace Assist are not billed for a limited time.
Can I send the same logs to Dynatrace and Sazabi?
Yes, if you ship logs through a tool such as an OpenTelemetry Collector. Sazabi can be an additional OTLP/HTTP exporter alongside your Dynatrace one. Logs collected by OneAgent need a separate shipper to reach Sazabi.
Does Sazabi replace Dynatrace APM?
No. Dynatrace Full-Stack Monitoring covers APM, code-level profiling and Kubernetes monitoring per host. Sazabi works from logs, plus traces and metrics sent over OpenTelemetry, and does not replace those monitoring products.
